A Walk in the Woods

Walking in the woods today with Bella, the dog, we veered off the main track and instead explored some of the bike trails. Judging by all the tail wagging, Bella finds these a whole lot more exciting. Veering off the predictable route can be an interesting thing to do once in while. So for this first writing exercise why not try writing about a time in your life when you took a detour. What was it like? Did you eventually return to the path you’d been on or did you just keep going trying other paths? Robert Frost’s poem The Road Less Travelled is all about having to choose between two paths. So try writing about a time when you took the less travelled road.
